What is the Function of Find and Replace?
Search and Replace allows you to swap out text from one text source for another. The function can be used to alter a specific word or phrase. This function can also be used to search for and correct grammatical, formatting, spelling, or special characters.
Excel and MS Word allow you to replace and find with one click.
First, ensure that your Word document remains open. Next, select the Home tab.
Click the Replace tab.
Enter the phrase or word you wish to replace in the “Find What” section of the dialog box. Enter the word that you wish it to replace next to “Replace With”.
Select Replace You can replace each word one by one, or Replace allYou can replace them all in one go. You can also choose to replace them all at once Find Next To view the next example of the word, without altering it.

In the Word web edition, open the Microsoft Word document.

Advanced features of Replace and Find
Advanced find and replace capabilities are available, which go well beyond simple text replacement. This advanced search option allows you to customize your search so that it is as exact as possible.

Match case: You can search for specific capitalization by using this feature. You might search for nouns in proper capitalization (missing an uppercase letter), as an example.
Find whole words only: The replace option is limited to complete words. This means that if “end” is being replaced, it won’t include words such as “spend” and “ending”, which are both part of the same word.
