Microsoft Teams There are dedicated apps available for Windows, Mac and Linux as well as Android, iOS, and Android devices. If you own a Chromebook, the Linux and Android versions of Microsoft Teams are available to you. You could create shortcuts for the web version.
You’ll be able to download and install the Android and Linux versions of Microsoft Teams for Chromebooks in this tutorial. This tutorial will also teach you how to create shortcuts for the Microsoft Teams Android and Linux versions Microsoft Teams web application.
Note: ChromeOS is only compatible with the web and Android versions of Microsoft Teams apps. According to a Google Product Expert, The Microsoft Teams Linux version of Microsoft Teams is still in development. Although you can download the Linux version of the app, your Chromebook might not be able to run it because the application isn’t optimized for ChromeOS. This article will show you how to set up Microsoft Teams for Linux in Chromebook.
Start the Google Play Store app from your Chromebook. Follow these steps.
Microsoft Teams can be switched to landscape orientation using the “Tablet” option. However, the window can’t be resized.
You can also change the orientation of your app window from portrait to landscape by selecting “Resize”. It gives you a desktop-like user interface with more options. Microsoft Team windows can also be resized anytime.
Microsoft Teams may warn you that it is not optimized for mobile devices and will therefore not be able to resize. Please select Allow Continue readin.
No issues using mobile Microsoft Teams on different interfaces (Resizable) of the Chromebook. You can also use the web version to access Microsoft Teams (see next section), if the Play Store version fails or crashes in “Resizable”.
If you can’t see the option to alter the size or interface of Microsoft Teams in the title bar, then it’s time to update your Chromebook.

Note: Chrome OS calls the Microsoft Teams app downloaded from the Play Store “Teams.” However, we recommend against calling the web shortcut “Teams”, especially if there is an Android app also installed on Chromebook.
You can distinguish the apps by using different names such as “Microsoft Teams”, “MS Teams (Web”)” and other distinctive names. If you will only be using the web app, it is a good idea to uninstall the Play Store edition.
If multiple organisations are connected to your Microsoft Teams account, you can create an application shortcut for them all.

Microsoft Teams for Linux, as mentioned previously is still being developed. It’s currently not functional on Chromebooks. This tutorial was not published because we couldn’t get it to run on Chromebooks.
There is one major difference between the Android version and Microsoft Teams web app versions: their interfaces. You will find navigation buttons in the Android version. On the right-hand side panel, you’ll see the navigation bar. Another distinguishing factor is the support for add-ons. The Android version, however, does not allow add-ons.
