You can use the Find My Device feature Windows 10 and Windows 11 Your device’s location is tracked, helping you to recover it in the event of an accidently lost or stolen. Find My Device is an app that allows you to pinpoint your device’s location using a map.
This tutorial will explain the Microsoft Find My Device feature, turn it on and remotely lock it if your device is stolen.
Recent Windows operating systems include a Find My Device feature that allows users to track the location of their devices in case it is lost or stolen. You won’t however be able track your device outside of its box. There are prerequisites.

This feature can be used on any Microsoft device including Windows laptops or PCs, Microsoft Surface Tablets, Android smartphones, Apple devices (including iPhones and Macs) or Xbox consoles even though you are signed into your Microsoft account.

To track your device location:
You can use your mouse to pinpoint the location of your device using the zoom buttons or your mouse on the map. You will see the last address of your device, the name you use, as well as the name and device information in the information box.
You can remotely lock your device using the Find My Device function if you are concerned about it being stolen. It prevents thieves accessing files on your device and possibly stealing personal information.
Your device can be programmed to show a message to anyone who attempts to turn it off. You can also leave a message, such as your telephone number to allow someone to contact you to return your lost device.
