How to change your Microsoft Account email

Microsoft permits you to add up to 10 email addresses to an account. You can add up to ten email addresses to your account Your email address has been locked or compromised, You can also access your account using alternative email addresses.

This video will demonstrate how to remove and add email addresses to your Microsoft account. This tutorial will also show you how to change or switch your primary email address in Microsoft accounts.

Microsoft refers to the primary email address on Windows devices as the “primary Alias.” To change the primary alias, you must have two Microsoft accounts email addresses. Follow the below steps to create a new Microsoft account email address if you have only one Microsoft email address.

How to add an email address to your Microsoft Account

1. Use your internet browser to sign in via your Microsoft account page account.microsoft.com or login.live.com .
2. Select your display name Or, you can choose Your info Click the menu at the top.

3. Scroll to the section “Account Info” and click on your choice Edit account info.

4. Select Add email address.

5. If prompted, sign in to your account. Please enter your username and password Microsoft account password Choose and Sign in to continue.

6. There are two options: create a new Outlook address, or reuse an existing one. You can choose to select Create a new email address and add it as an alias If you are adding an email address to your account, click the “Add” button. Select the option to enter an email address into the dialogue box Add alias.

Select Add an existing email address as a Microsoft account alias If an existing non-Microsoft address is being added, you will need to enter the email address in this dialog box. In the dialogue box, enter your email address and click on “Select” Add alias.

Note: It is not possible to use the existing email address One account linked to another Microsoft Account.

7. The verification email that Microsoft sent you will be opened. Click on the link to open the mail. Microsoft will verify that the account is yours.

8. To continue, enter your password to sign in.

Verifying the new alias is important. If you don’t find a verification email in your inbox, return to the “Account info” page (see step #3) and select Verify.

This will prompt Microsoft to send the verification link again to your email address. Next, make this new email address the primary alias for your Microsoft account.

How to change your Microsoft Account email

1. Select the appropriate email address from the page “Account Info” and locate it Make primary.

2. Select Yes Click on the confirmation popup.

Microsoft apps and services allow you to log in using any account aliases, email addresses or usernames. Your Microsoft devices, including the Xbox and Windows PC, will show your primary email address.

3. It is possible to delete your primary alias, or keep it as your alternate address. You can choose Remove Click the link below to remove it from your account.

It is possible to receive a prompt asking you to enter your password, two-factor authentication code or email address.

Microsoft lets you change the primary alias of your account twice weekly. The error message shown below would appear if your primary account alias was changed for the third consecutive week.

You can change your preferences for signing in

You can log in to Microsoft Services using any email address that is connected to your account, as mentioned previously. Microsoft suggests that you use email addresses that are monitored to increase account security.

We recommend that you disable an email address if it is not used often in your Microsoft account sign-in preferences.

1. Open the Microsoft page “Account information” When prompted, type your password.
2. Scroll to “Sign-in preferences”, and click the button that says Select Change sign-in preferences.

3. Deaktivate the box next to your secondary email address(es), and then select Save.

Microsoft won’t remove or You can delete your email address from the account. . You won’t however be able sign in to the account with your email address. You can not remove the primary alias you use to sign in.
